Located in the heart of Kidsgrove, Wade Court is much more than just a building—it’s a community where life is lived in full colour.
The service features 16 modern, self-contained flats, thoughtfully designed to promote independent living while providing the reassurance of on-site support. Whether residents are enjoying the privacy of their own space or meeting up in the welcoming communal lounge and outdoor terrace, Wade Court balances independence with a real sense of connection.
A message from Ceri, Service Manager

“Wade Court is a special place, and that’s down to the people. Both the residents and the incredible team I get to work with every day.
I recently hit a bit of a milestone. Wade Court is the 20th independent living service I’ve worked in. I might joke that I’m becoming an ‘industry dinosaur’, but the truth is I’m just as passionate today as I was on day one.
I’m also really proud to share that my NVQ Level 7 has now been approved, and I’ll be starting it later this year. It means a lot that Wellgate is funding my learning while I continue working. That investment shows a real commitment to developing leaders from within, and I’m excited to keep growing and bring that learning back into the service.”
“For me, a great service starts with a great team environment. We regularly lean into Wellbeing Wednesday as a space to check in with each other and make sure everyone feels supported. We’ve built a culture of listening and learning, and some of our best ideas for improvements or fun activities have come directly from colleague feedback.
When the team feels heard and valued, that positive energy flows straight to the residents. Whether we’re celebrating a win or simply catching up over a coffee, engagement is at the heart of what we do.”
That culture of care shows up in the small moments too. Creating a warm, welcoming space for Valentine’s Day reflects the pride our teams take in their standards and the compassion they show every day. These thoughtful touches bring joy to the people we support and remind us that great care is not just about meeting needs, but about creating experiences that make people feel valued and included.
And a final fun fact: Kidsgrove is the home of the Harecastle Tunnel. Just like that famous canal route, we’re all about helping our residents and staff navigate their own journey toward a bright, successful future!
Thank you to Ceri and the whole Wade Court team for your energy, your commitment to wellbeing, and for making ‘listening and learning’ a daily reality.
